ADC's Dan’Iya Supports Atiku's Fuel Subsidy Proposal

Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Sokoto, has endorsed the fuel subsidy proposal put forth by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party's 2027 presidential candidate. Dan’Iya stated that Atiku's policy could alleviate the financial strain of rising transportation and food costs on Nigerians, especially low-income families.

In a statement from his Media Aide, Aminu Abdullahi, Dan’Iya highlighted the economic hardships faced by the country, attributing increased transportation and production costs to the removal of petrol subsidies in 2023. He clarified that Atiku's proposal should not be seen as a return to previous subsidy systems but as a chance to create a transparent mechanism aimed at helping vulnerable Nigerians.

Dan’Iya also called for enhanced domestic refining capacity to reduce reliance on imported petroleum products. He urged ADC supporters nationwide to rally behind the Atiku-led presidential ticket, asserting that an ADC government could effectively address issues like insecurity, unemployment, and economic hardship.
