Adelabu Denies Defection Rumors, Affirms APC Loyalty

Adebayo Adelabu, a former Minister and aspirant for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, has publicly dismissed rumors regarding his potential defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP). His media aide, Femi Awogboro, stated that the claims are baseless and fabricated, asserting that Adelabu has neither contemplated nor authorized any move to the SDP.

This response follows a warning from SDP governorship hopeful Sahe Oladel, who cautioned Adelabu against seeking the party's ticket. Awogboro characterized the defection rumors as a desperate attempt to attract public attention and exploit Adelabu's name.

He reiterated that the APC gubernatorial primary process has not concluded, and no official results have been declared, thus rendering the defection claims unfounded. Awogboro demanded a retraction and apology from those promoting the false narrative and indicated that legal action could be pursued against defamatory claims.

Adelabu remains committed to the APC and focused on his vision for Oyo State.
