Adeleke Reconstitutes UNIOSUN Governing Council, Retains Oladipo

Osun State Governor Adeleke has officially dissolved and reconstituted the Governing Council of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), retaining Professor Adewale Abiodun Oladipo as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the new council. This decision, announced on Friday, is part of the state's efforts to enhance the governance structure of the university and ensure continuity in its administration.

The newly constituted council includes members such as Alhaji Gbadegesin Lawal, Otunba Titi Laoye-Ponnle, Mr Akinola Franklin Omoniyi, Chief Funminiyi Awotide, Mr Orija Samuel Adebayo, and Mrs Adewale Adetayo Bola. In a statement from his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke emphasized that the reconstitution aims to prevent operational gaps while strengthening governance.

He urged the new council to build on UNIOSUN's achievements and collaborate closely with university management to foster innovation. The council is expected to provide strategic oversight and support the implementation of programs that advance the university's academic and institutional goals.

The formal inauguration of the new council is scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026.
