Adeleke, Oyebamiji's Campaign Councils Clash Over Violence

The campaign councils of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Bola Oyebamiji of the APC engaged in a blame game surrounding messages commemorating June 12, Democracy Day. Adeleke's council accused the APC of perpetuating political intimidation and violence, citing incidents where APC-affiliated thugs allegedly attacked members of the Accord Party, resulting in injuries.

Eyewitness accounts confirmed that a convoy was attacked, leading to at least three serious injuries. In response, Oyebamiji criticized Adeleke for failing to fulfill electoral promises, claiming that the state’s infrastructure, health, and educational facilities are in disrepair.

He highlighted that Osun State has the lowest number of teachers in the southwest and the second-worst rate of abandoned health centers in the country. The exchanges reflect ongoing tensions as both parties prepare for upcoming elections, with each side accusing the other of failing to address the needs of the populace.
