APC Struggles to Counter Adeleke's Popularity, Says Oyedotun

Samuel Oyedotun, a senatorial aspirant from the Accord Party, described the popularity of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as a mystery to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Oyedotun noted that despite criticisms of Adeleke's administration, his popularity remains strong among residents of Osun State, which complicates the APC's efforts to form a cohesive opposition strategy ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

He emphasized that Adeleke's governance style resonates with the people, contributing to his continued support across party lines. Oyedotun, who previously served as the chairman of the Osun State Water Corporation, expressed confidence in securing the Accord Party ticket for the Osun East senatorial district.

He argued that the APC underestimated Adeleke's appeal in the 2022 elections and claimed that Adeleke's performance has surpassed that of previous administrations, earning him loyalty from voters. Oyedotun criticized the APC's reliance on propaganda to undermine Adeleke's image, stating that it has made it difficult for them to dislodge him politically.
