Adeleke Accuses APC of Plotting to Disrupt Osun Election

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has alleged that certain elements within the All Progressives Congress (APC) are planning to disrupt the governorship election scheduled for August 15. This statement was made through his spokesperson, Olawal Rashe, on Wednesday.

Adeleke expressed concerns that the APC is resorting to anti-democratic means as a last-ditch effort to secure power, citing a survey that reportedly shows the APC's popularity at below 30%, while his own approval rating ranges between 68% and 72%. He asserted that the people of Osun have clearly rejected the APC and that the opposition is unsettled by the prospect of their defeat.

Adeleke also mentioned that the APC's fear stems from the certainty that Osun residents will overwhelmingly reject them at the polls. In response, APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi dismissed Adeleke's claims, suggesting that the governor is merely anticipating defeat and that the APC remains a strong political force in the state.
