Adeleke Visits Wike After Re-election Meeting with Tinubu

On Thursday, August 15, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja as part of his post-election consultations following his re-election. This meeting occurred shortly after Adeleke's closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he presented his certificate of return and expressed appreciation for the election's conduct.

Adeleke, dressed in traditional attire and accompanied by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and other Osun State officials, thanked Tinubu for allowing a free and fair electoral process. He referred to Tinubu as the “father of the nation,” emphasizing the President's respect for democracy.

Adeleke contested the governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, securing 511,067 votes, defeating All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who garnered 444,815 votes. Adeleke won in 19 of Osun State's 30 local government areas.
