Adeleke Thanks Tinubu After Winning Osun Governorship

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his re-election victory in the August 15 governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Adeleke as the winner after collating results from all 30 local government areas in the state.

Adeleke received 511,067 votes, surpassing the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who garnered 444,815 votes. After the results were declared by the election’s Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, Adeleke expressed his appreciation to President Tinubu for his congratulatory call and support for democracy.

He stated, “Thank you Mr President for making sure democracy lives on because you fought for it.” The INEC's formal declaration confirmed that Adeleke of the Accord Party met all constitutional requirements to be returned as elected.
