Adeleke's Camp Denies Political Deal with Tinubu

The Imole Campaign Council, representing Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, has dismissed allegations of a political agreement with President Bola Tinubu concerning Adeleke's support for Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid. Spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi clarified that Adeleke's endorsement was rooted in Tinubu's performance and economic reforms, not a pre-arranged political deal.

This response came after Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, congratulated Adeleke on his re-election during the August 15 Osun governorship election and interpreted Adeleke's support as indicative of an agreement. Olajengbesi urged the public not to misinterpret Keyamo's comments, emphasizing the significance of the Osun electorate's decision.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner of the election with 511,067 votes against the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes. Adeleke's re-election was attributed to the votes of Osun residents, with Tinubu credited for ensuring a fair electoral process.
