Adeleke Campaign Urges Police Compliance with Tinubu

The Imole Campaign Council, the campaign organization for Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, has called on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to follow President Bola Tinubu's directive for neutrality and professionalism in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for Saturday. The council stressed that the President's instructions to Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu and other security heads must be strictly enforced to ensure voter safety and the integrity of the electoral process.

In a statement released on Friday by spokesman Pelumi Olajengbesi, the council welcomed Tinubu's directive to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a transparent election, citing concerns over police conduct in the months leading up to the election. The council urged police officers to act impartially and protect polling units, while also calling on National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu to ensure enforcement of the directive.

Additionally, the council condemned the release of APC candidate Babatunde Festus Komolafe, who was arrested with a firearm, alleging that his release followed pressure from senior APC figures.
