Adeleke Campaign Supports Tinubu's Police Neutrality Directive

The Imole Campaign Council, which supports Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has expressed its backing for President Bola Tinubu's directive to the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to maintain professionalism and neutrality during the governorship election scheduled for Saturday. In a statement released on Friday in Osogbo, spokesman Pelumi Olajengbesi emphasized the importance of the presidential directive for ensuring voter protection and the integrity of the electoral process.

The council called on Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu and other security heads to provide maximum security at polling units and protect voters. It also welcomed the President's appeal to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a transparent election.

However, the council raised concerns about the police's recent lack of neutrality and urged compliance with the presidential order to ensure impartiality. The statement concluded with a call for security agencies to prevent intimidation and allow all eligible voters to exercise their rights freely.
