Temitop Adeshina Named USTFCCCA Athlete of the Year

Temitop Adeshina has been recognized as the USTFCCCA Athlete of the Year following an outstanding indoor season as a high jumper. She secured her third consecutive Big 12 Conference title and her second NCAA Indoor Championship, showcasing her dominance by clearing at least 1.93m in every competition.

Her season culminated in a championship win where she jumped 1.97m, matching her personal best and setting a Nigerian national record. Although she attempted to clear 2.00m to equal the NCAA indoor record, she was unable to do so in three attempts.

Adeshina aims to replicate her success in the outdoor season following her breakthrough in 2024, where she set the national record and won her first NCAA title in March 2025, clearing 1.94m at the NCAA Indoor Championship held in Virginia Beach, USA. She is also set to represent Nigeria in the 2024 Olympics, following her achievements as the second Nigerian woman to compete in the high jump at the Olympics.
