Nigerian Athletes Shine at NCAA Indoor Championships

At the NCAA Division Indoor Track and Field Championship held in Fayetteville, Kanyinsola Ajayi, representing Auburn Tigers, won the men's 60m with a time of 6.45 seconds, equaling the African and NCAA collegiate record. He previously matched this record earlier in the season and became the first athlete to equal the mark twice in one year.

Fellow Nigerian Israel Okon finished fifth in the same event with a time of 6.57 seconds. In the men's 400m, Samuel Ogazi of Alabama Crimson Tide claimed victory with a time of 44.57 seconds, setting a new Nigerian and African indoor record, ranking third on the NCAA time list and fourth in the world indoor rankings.

Ogazi also participated in the 4x400m relay, helping his team finish as national runners-up. Temitop Adeshina successfully defended her title in the women's high jump, clearing 1.97m, which equals her personal best and the Nigerian record.

Ella Onojuvwevwo secured bronze in the women's 400m with a time of 50.76 seconds.
