ADIafrica Offers Free Eye Screening to 300 Residents

ADIafrica, in partnership with the Foundation, conducted a free medical eye screening exercise for over 300 residents of Rivers State, which was flagged off in Port Harcourt. The initiative, led by ADIafrica's International President Dan Mbachi, aims to address broader health security issues and promote sustainable development.

Mbachi emphasized that vision impairment affects children's learning and adults' ability to work, thereby limiting opportunities. The screening provided eye tests, visual field assessments, and access to eyeglasses and contact lenses.

Mbachi commended the medical team and volunteers for their dedication to this impactful intervention. Additionally, he addressed concerns regarding the visa processing center in Port Harcourt, suggesting it could generate revenue for the state and improve economic viability.

He called for dialogue with the Rivers State government to facilitate this process and mentioned the need for the African Union to address high air ticket costs affecting travel within Africa.
