Adighije Advocates for Electricity Optimization in Nigeria

Engr. Jennifer Adighije, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), called for the optimization of Nigeria's electricity infrastructure to enhance industrialization and attract investment. She made this statement during the Distinguished Alumni Lecture at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where she returned to her alma mater to discuss the theme “Optimising Electricity for Powering Nigeria’s New Socio-Economic Frontiers.” Adighije noted that reliable electricity is crucial for job creation, investment attraction, and overall socio-economic development.

She highlighted the Electricity Act 2023 as a significant reform that allows states to regulate their electricity markets, fostering investment and competition. Adighije also mentioned NDPHC's commitment to improving operational efficiency and corporate governance to maximize asset value.

UNILAG Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, praised Adighije as a distinguished alumna, reflecting the university's commitment to excellence in engineering education.
