Kano Govt Confirms Emir Sanusi to Lead Sallah Durbar

The Kano State Government has officially confirmed that Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II will lead the Sallah Durbar, despite ongoing legal disputes surrounding his emirate status. Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, accepted the government's decision to suspend traditional Eid Durbar activities to maintain peace in the state.

The announcement was made during a media briefing by Babba Danagundi, who emphasized the need for compliance with government directives to prevent unrest. The decision to allow Sanusi to lead the Sallah Durbar was influenced by credible intelligence reports indicating potential unrest during the celebrations.

The event will take place at Kofar Mata Eid ground, with modifications to traditional displays for public safety. The Kano State Government remains committed to preserving the cultural heritage of Kano while ensuring law and order during the festivities.
