ADP Candidate Aliyu Bin Abbas Warns Against Ticket Alteration

Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, the presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), has expressed alarm over alleged efforts to alter the party's presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election. In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, Abbas indicated that he received information about political pressure regarding the party's candidacy.

He emphasized that any attempt to remove or replace him without his consent and due process would be unacceptable. Abbas did not provide independent evidence for the alleged plot but deemed it serious enough to warrant public clarification.

He reiterated that he is the candidate selected through the party's recognized nomination process, which took place during the national convention in Abuja in May 2026. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for February 20, 2027.

Abbas's campaign focuses on youth participation, national unity, and a new direction for Nigeria.
