Afenifere Commends Tinubu for State Police Bill Passage

Afenifere, a pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in establishing state police in Nigeria following the rapid passage of the State Police Bill by the National Assembly. The commendation was made public by Comrade Jare Ajayi at the organization's secretariat in Ibadan.

Afenifere urged state houses of assembly across the country to promptly pass the bill and called on state governors to ensure the creation of police services that adhere to state laws. The organization emphasized the importance of recruiting individuals without criminal tendencies and ensuring they are properly trained and equipped.

Additionally, Afenifere highlighted the need for adequate motivation, including remuneration and life insurance for police personnel. The group also urged President Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde to maintain order and not direct anger towards any specific groups, referencing the Yoruba nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo Agboho.
