Afenifere Condemns Terrorist Attacks on Schools in Oyo

Afenifere, a pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, expressed horror over a series of terrorist attacks in the southwest, particularly the recent coordinated assault on three schools in Oriir Local Government Area, Oyo State, on Friday, May 15. The attacks involved motorbike-riding terrorists targeting Baptist Nursery Primary School, Yawota Community Grammar School, and Esinel Primary School.

Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasor expressed sadness over these incidents, which coincide with the organization's 100th anniversary. Jare Ajayi, the organization's spokesperson, noted that these attacks highlight the urgent need for action to combat rising terrorism.

He recalled other violent incidents, including the abduction of three family members in Ogun State and the killing of a pastor during a church crusade in Ekiti State. Ajayi emphasized the necessity for the six southwestern governors to take decisive steps to ensure the safety of their regions, as the threat of terrorism continues to grow.
