Ezeakor and Odinaka Dominate AFN Golden League Sprints

At the 2026 AFN Golden League held at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Chidera Ezeakor and Chinonso Odinaka dominated the sprint events, completing a clean sweep in the 100m and 200m categories. Ezeakor, who had already won the men's 100m on Monday, extended his mastery by winning the 200m final with a personal best of 20.83 seconds, nearly a second faster than his closest rival, Paul Otagba, who finished in 21.66 seconds.

Enoch Dabo secured third place with a time of 21.76 seconds. In the women's 200m, Odinaka clinched gold with a strong performance of 24.13 seconds, holding off Mariam Jeged, who clocked 24.16 seconds, and Akinpelu, who finished in 24.53 seconds.

The event showcased several standout performances, including Sikiru Adeyemi's victory in the men's 400m final with a season-best time of 46.41 seconds. The AFN Golden League continues to attract Nigeria's elite athletes, offering substantial prize money across various events.
