Ezechukwu Sets African Outdoor Record at MTN Champs

At the MTN Championships held in Jos, Plateau State, Miracl Ezechukwu emerged as the standout athlete, clocking a remarkable 22.91 seconds in the women's 200m, marking her as the fastest African woman outdoors in this event. This performance allowed her to successfully defend her title and become the first Nigerian to break the 23-second barrier on home soil since 2021.

Rosemari Nwankwo finished second with a personal best of 23.17 seconds, while Luci Nwankwo secured third place with a time of 23.76 seconds. In the junior men's 200m, Michael Anich claimed victory with a personal best of 21.84 seconds.

Toheebat Jimoh also excelled, winning the women's 200m with a personal best of 24.35 seconds. The championships concluded with various relay events, showcasing strong performances from teams, particularly Team MTN, which dominated the podium in multiple categories.
