Agatha Obiekwugo Appointed Chairman of Afriland Properties

Afriland Properties has announced the appointment of Agatha Obiekwugo as the new chairman of its Board of Directors, effective immediately. She succeeds Emmanuel Nnorom, who is retiring after more than a decade in the role.

Obiekwugo joined Afriland Properties' Board in October 2018 as a Non-Executive Director and has served on various committees, including Finance, Risk and General-Purpose, and Nomination, Audit and Governance. As chairman, she will provide strategic oversight as the company seeks to expand its real estate portfolio in Nigeria.

Obiekwugo is an accomplished business leader with over three decades of experience across multiple sectors, including banking, commerce, information technology, consulting, and oil and gas. She is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Adassa Energy Limited and serves on the Boards of Heirs Insurance Brokers and Houce Limited.

Obiekwugo holds an MBA in Marketing from ESUT Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Edo State University, along with a certification from Harvard Business School.
