Walson-Jack Retires; Enitan Takes Charge of Reforms

Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack retired from the Federal Civil Service as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on August 27, 2026, after 34 years of service, including two years in her final role. Her career was characterized by a commitment to institutional building and reform.

Walson-Jack's retirement leaves a significant challenge for her successor, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, who was sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the same day. Enitan, previously the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education, is responsible for continuing the momentum of reforms aimed at modernizing the Federal Civil Service, which includes enhancing digitalization, professionalism, and citizen-centred service delivery.
