Enitan Takes Over as Head of Civil Service from Walson-Jack

Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan has officially assumed the role of Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF) after being sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday. He replaces Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, who retired upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 60.

The handover ceremony took place in Abuja and was announced by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation through a statement from Mrs. Eno Olotu. Enitan's appointment as HCSF is effective from August 27, 2026, as announced by the Presidency on August 19, 2026.

During the ceremony, Walson-Jack expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and acknowledged the support from her colleagues throughout her tenure. She reflected on her two years in office, highlighting significant achievements and challenges.

Enitan, in his remarks, thanked the President for the trust placed in him and pledged to continue the reforms initiated by Walson-Jack, emphasizing the importance of collective commitment among civil servants to enhance public service delivery.
