UK Returnee Dies in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Crash

A tragic road accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around 6 PM on Monday, involving a UK returnee who was traveling to attend a wedding in Abeokuta. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was driving a white Toyota Camry when it collided with a moving truck.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident took place near the Christoph University section of the expressway, with three individuals involved, including one male and two females. The deceased was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the two other occupants sustained injuries and received treatment at Famobi Redeem Hospital.

Babatund Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance Enforcement Agency, reiterated the need for drivers to avoid excessive speed to prevent similar incidents. In a separate incident on Tuesday, a truck loaded with sand rammed into the main gate of the Gombe State Government House, causing extensive damage but thankfully resulting in no injuries.
