Court Adjourns Sule Lamido's N1.35bn Fraud Trial Again

The trial of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido and his sons, Aminu Mustapha Lamido, over allegations of N1.35 billion fraud has been adjourned by the Federal High Court in Abuja due to the absence of their lead defense counsel, Joe Agi, SAN. The adjournment occurred on Tuesday, with Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu overseeing the case, which involves 37 counts related to money laundering, kickbacks, and fictitious contract awards.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting the case, which stems from alleged offenses committed during Lamido's tenure as governor from 2007 to 2015. Defense counsel O.F.

Ekegba informed the court that Agi was in Germany for a meeting and had taken relevant documents with him, promising to conclude the case within three days of his return.
