Ganduje's Trial for Misappropriation Adjourned to October 14

The trial of former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and seven others, including his wife Hafsat Ganduje, has been adjourned to October 14 by the Kano State High Court. They face 11 counts of bribery, conspiracy, and misappropriation of public funds totaling billions of naira.

The defendants include Abubakar Bawuro, Abdullahi Umar Jibrilla, and Muhammad Lamash, as well as companies such as Properti Ltd, Safari Textil Ltd, and Lasag Enterprises Ltd. During the proceedings, counsel for the prosecution, Mr.

Victor Oni, informed the court that the state was ready to proceed and filed a motion to withdraw an earlier application dated March 31, 2026. The defense, represented by Lydia Oluwakemi Oyewo and others, indicated no objection to the prosecution's application.

The presiding judge, Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, subsequently struck the prosecution's motion and adjourned the case to hear the sixth defendant's preliminary objection.
