Ganduje's Trial Adjourned to October 14, 2026

The Kano State High Court has adjourned the trial of former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and seven others to October 14, 2026. Ganduje faces 11 counts of charges, including bribery, conspiracy, and misappropriation of diverse public funds amounting to billions of naira.

His wife, Hafsat Ganduje, is also implicated in the case. Other defendants include Abubakar Bawuro, Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, and several companies such as Properti Ltd, Safari Textil Ltd, and Lasag Gener Enterpris Ltd.

During the proceedings, the prosecuting counsel, Victor Oni, informed the court that they were ready to proceed and sought leave to withdraw an earlier motion dated March 31, 2026, in favor of a fresh motion to be filed by May 15, 2026. The sixth defendant's counsel, Abubakar Ahmad, filed a preliminary objection, leading Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu to strike the earlier motion and adjourn the matter until the new date.
