Terrorists Kill 26 in Niger State Community Attacks

In a series of violent attacks, terrorists have occupied communities in Niger State's Borgu Local Government Area, resulting in the deaths of no fewer than 26 individuals. The assaults began late Thursday night in Feyi Community and continued into early Friday, where six people were killed.

The terrorists, described as armed and sophisticated, moved on to Tungan Makeri and Nkpaso Village in Konkoso Ward early Saturday, where they killed at least 20 more people. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the assailants rode several motorcycles, shooting sporadically and causing widespread panic.

They also set a police station ablaze before fleeing into the forest upon hearing the sound of a helicopter approaching the area. The Niger State Police Command, represented by Public Relations Officer Wasiu Abiodun, had not responded to the incidents at the time of the report.

The ongoing attacks have raised urgent concerns regarding the safety and security of the affected communities.
