ADC Faction Led by Dumebi Plans Convention Amid Crisis

The Dumebi-led faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is organizing a convention as the party faces deepening crises. They have expressed support for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the delisting of Senator David Mark's leadership, asserting that Ralph Nwosu's leadership expired in August 2022.

The faction, represented by spokesman Norman Obinna, emphasized the need for new leadership and condemned attempts by non-members to influence party leadership. They have formally disassociated from rival coalitions led by prominent figures such as David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola.

The faction has appointed interim leadership to manage the party's affairs until a new National Working Committee (NWC) is elected. They also announced ongoing legal challenges against the current NWC led by Mark and Aregbesola, claiming it lacks legitimacy.

The faction's meeting in Abuja included 25 state chairmen and outlined several resolutions, including the appointment of interim leaders from various states.
