Egunjobi and Yusuf Leave APC for APM, Deny Obasa's Role

Hon. Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi, former Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, and Azeez Oladapo Yusuf have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). They contested for the APC tickets for Agege Constituencies I and II but lost to Gbenga Abiola and Hon. Sakiru Sule Enimakure, respectively.

They dismissed rumors linking their departure to Rt. Hon. Mudasiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, asserting that their decision stemmed from perceived injustices in the APC primaries.

Egunjobi and Yusuf claimed they were declared winners at the primaries monitored by INEC and other agencies but were later replaced by different candidates. They expressed disappointment over the APC leadership's failure to address their grievances and stated that their defection was a personal choice, not influenced by any political leader.

They also referenced Musiliu Obanikoro's past party movements to illustrate that such changes are common in Nigerian politics.
