Egunjobi and Yusuf Leave APC After Controversial Primaries

Egunjobi and Yusuf, who contested for the All Progressives Congress (APC) tickets for Agege Constituencies I and II, have announced their defection from the party following a controversial primary election. Egunjobi lost the ticket to Glenga Abiola, while Yusuf's fellow aspirant, Hon. Sakiru Sule Enimakure, was declared the winner.

Both politicians claimed they were unjustly denied their tickets despite a transparent electoral process. They dismissed speculation that their defection was endorsed by Rt.

Hon. Mudasiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, asserting their decision was independent. They criticized the APC leadership for failing to address their grievances after the primaries and noted that prominent politicians have switched parties without controversy.

They cited Musiliu Obanikoro's past party changes as an example and expressed disappointment that their situation had become contentious. Egunjobi and Yusuf emphasized their maturity and capability to make independent political decisions.
