Egunjobi and Yusuf Reject APC Expulsion, Cite Resignation

Chief Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi and Barrister Azeez Yusuf, former chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agege Constituency, have publicly rejected their expulsion from the party. They asserted that they had formally resigned from the APC in July and joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) weeks before the expulsion announcement made by the APC leadership in Lagos State on September 23.

The duo criticized the expulsion as politically unnecessary and belated, arguing that it did not change their political status since they had already communicated their resignation to the relevant authorities. They cited unresolved grievances from the party's primary elections, claiming they were denied victories in their constituencies despite winning.

Egunjobi and Yusuf expressed that their departure was a result of exhausting all avenues for resolution within the party. They also emphasized their continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC figures, rejecting any notion of political betrayal.
