APC Members Protest Candidate Imposition in Oyo State

On Thursday, aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) staged a protest in Oyo State against the imposition of candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections. The protest took place at the party's secretariat located in the Ado area of Ibadan, within the South East Local Government Area.

During the protest, members cautioned the APC leadership against allowing monetary influence in the selection of candidates, urging for a transparent process that would enable free, fair, and credible primaries. The protest was led by Olawal Sadar, who stated that the imposition of candidates undermines the party's integrity.

The situation escalated when hoodlums reportedly attacked the protestors, causing damage to private vehicles and the secretariat building. Fortunately, no lives were lost during the unprovoked attack, and security agents are already investigating the incident.
