APC Youths Protest Candidate Imposition in Kwara Primaries

Youth members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State staged a peaceful protest at the party's secretariat in Ilorin over the imposition of candidates during the recent primaries. The protest, led by Mr.

Abdulgafar Alawod, the youth coordinator for the Kwara South senatorial district, called for a free, fair, and transparent electoral process. Alawod emphasized the need for party members to elect credible representatives rather than having candidates imposed upon them.

He expressed disbelief at the imposition and described the electoral process as unacceptable, condemning the deployment of thugs to intimidate party members. The protesters urged the national leadership of the APC to ensure a successful electoral victory in the 2027 general elections, highlighting their commitment to democracy and the need for direct primary voting.
