PDP Aspirant Saleh Rejects Pantami as Gombe Candidate

Saleh, a dissatisfied aspirant from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has publicly rejected Isa Pantami's emergence as the party's governorship candidate for Gombe State following the primary elections held on Tuesday. Saleh described Pantami's selection as unfair, noting that he had purchased a nomination form to participate in the process outlined by the party.

The primary elections were initially scheduled for Sunday but were postponed to Tuesday without prior explanation from the party leadership. Saleh expressed surprise at the announcement of Pantami as the candidate, questioning his participation in the PDP primaries after previously contesting in the APC governorship primary held on May 21, 2026.

Saleh's legal team is currently pursuing appropriate legal channels to seek redress, condemning the situation as an injustice against aspirants. Meanwhile, Pantami recently left the APC, citing concerns over the candidate selection process as part of his reason for joining the PDP.
