PDP Aspirant Hamma Saleh Petitions Over Primary Exclusion

Hamma Saleh, a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from Nafada West Ward in Nafada Local Government Area, has filed a petition with the PDP governorship appeal panel regarding his alleged exclusion from the party's primary elections. The primaries were initially scheduled for May 24, 2026, but were postponed without official communication from the party.

Saleh claims he was not informed or invited to participate in the rescheduled primary, which took place on May 26, 2026. Reports circulated on social media indicated that Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, emerged as the PDP governorship candidate, being declared the sole aspirant and winner without any knowledge of other participants.

Saleh has questioned the legitimacy of this process, describing the PDP primaries as a "kangaroo arrangement" and urging the appeal panel to intervene to address the breach of the party's internal democratic processes.
