Pantami Wins Gombe PDP Governorship Ticket with 52,955 Votes

Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has been confirmed as the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State after a successful primary election held recently. The results were announced by Gregori H.

Yelong, the chairman of the PDP electoral committee panel, affirming that Pantami was the sole aspirant and received overwhelming support from party delegates across the state. He garnered a total of 52,955 votes, with breakdowns of 16,781 from Gombe North, 12,752 from Gombe Central, and 23,422 from Gombe South.

In his acceptance speech, Pantami emphasized his commitment to serving the people rather than pursuing personal ambition, pledging to provide inclusive administration and focus on poverty reduction, youth empowerment, agriculture, industrialization, and human capital development. His emergence follows his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he lost his ticket due to allegations of violating the electoral act.

Alhaji Abdulkadir Hamma Saleh, another gubernatorial aspirant, has rejected Pantami's candidacy and plans to challenge the decision in court.
