Damilola Agunbiade Reaches Semifinals at CBN Tennis

Damilola Agunbiade, representing Cross River State, has successfully qualified for the semifinals in the boys' 16 category at the Central Bank of Nigeria Junior Tennis Championship, held at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. Agunbiade completed the preliminary rounds with a perfect record, winning all matches without losing a game.

His last victory was against top seed Isa Yahaya, whom he defeated 9-7 in what was described as his toughest match of the tournament. Agunbiade expressed confidence about his performance, stating he was not under pressure for the last match of the round-robin competition.

He is now focused on the semifinals scheduled for Saturday. His father, Mr. Tund Agunbiade, advised him to concentrate on the upcoming match rather than prematurely discussing the finals.

The tournament features various categories, including girls' and boys' competitions across different age groups, with semifinal matchups already released.
