Finalists Announced for CBN Junior Tennis Championship

The CBN Junior Tennis Championship concluded its preliminary games at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, with finalists emerging for the grand final scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Ikoyi Club 1938. In the semi-finals, Damilola Agbabiaka from Cross River State narrowly defeated Wisdom Effiong with a score of 9-8, while Heman Afaramai triumphed over Joel Michael 9-4.

In the girls' 16 category, Gloria Samuel defeated Barakat Ganiyu 9-2, and Jame overcame Omoyinka Ayinla 9-4. Other notable matches included Godwin Afaramai beating Divin Ezaka 9-6 and Alaba Adeyinka winning against Abdulkarim with a score of 9-5.

Gideon Peter registered a dominant 9-0 victory. Championship coordinator Mr. Godwin Kienka praised the young players for their skills, noting that Damola Agbabiaka has displayed talent surpassing even the standards set in the 2025 final.
