Fiona Ahimie Becomes First Female President of CIS

Fiona Ahimie has made history by being elected as the first female president of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), a role that has not been occupied by a woman in the institute's three-decade history. Her election has been widely praised across the financial market as a breakthrough in breaking the glass ceiling.

Ahimie succeeds Oluropo Dada, the 13th president, whose tenure was marked by several notable achievements. She is scheduled for formal inauguration on June 25.

Prior to her election, Ahimie served as the 2nd vice president and later as the 1st vice president of the institute. Following her election, Dr.

Akeem Oyewale will assume the role of 1st vice president, with the new 2nd vice president to be announced in due course. Dada expressed confidence that Ahimie's proven expertise and strong leadership will further strengthen the institute's role in the financial services sector.
