Ahmed Audi Retires as NSCDC Commandant-General

Ahmed Audi officially retired as the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on a Friday, coinciding with the observance of World Civil Defence Day. Audi's retirement marks the conclusion of his tenure, which began on March 1, 2021, following his appointment by a former president.

His leadership spanned nearly five years, during which he was responsible for protecting critical national assets, managing disasters, and civil defence responses. The NSCDC held a commemorative event at its national headquarters in Abuja, attended by colleagues and senior officers, to celebrate Audi's service and to highlight the importance of civil protection and emergency response services.

Born on September 30, 1967, in Nasarawa State, Audi holds a PhD in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and a Master's degree in Public Business Administration from the University of Calabar. The federal government has yet to announce his successor, and stakeholders are awaiting the official announcement regarding the new leader of the NSCDC.
