Tinubu Reappoints Dr. Audi as NSCDC Commandant General

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renewed Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Audi's tenure as the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for an additional five-year term, effective February 27, 2026.

The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy. Dr.

Audi's reappointment aims to enhance the country's security architecture, particularly in addressing issues related to banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism. Dr.

Audi was first appointed to this position in 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari. He has a strong educational background, holding various qualifications including a Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a PhD in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Dr. Audi joined the NSCDC in November 1996 and has risen through the ranks, demonstrating significant leadership in the organization.
