NSCDC's Audi Reports 4,677 Arrests, ₦4.5bn Revenue

Ahmadu Audi, the outgoing Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), disclosed significant achievements during his five-year tenure at a pull-out ceremony held in Abuja. Under his leadership, the NSCDC arrested 4,677 suspects, primarily for economic sabotage, and prosecuted 2,039 cases, resulting in 638 convictions.

The Corps generated ₦4,476,237,986 in revenue, which was paid directly into the Consolidated Revenue Fund. Audi highlighted the establishment of a female special squad aimed at enhancing security in schools, which successfully thwarted 48 kidnapping attempts nationwide.

Additionally, he noted the training of 15,157 guards across the country and the handling of 52 complaints, recovering ₦3.3 million on behalf of complainants. The NSCDC also registered 376 new private guard companies, with 893 awaiting licensing, while 443 companies were sealed for failing to meet operational requirements.

Audi's tenure is marked by a commitment to strengthening operations, particularly in protecting agricultural investments.
