AIG Jimoh Halts Case Transfers for Lagos, Ogun Police

AIG Jimoh has directed the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands to cease transferring cases and to manage investigations within their jurisdictions. This directive was issued during a strategic security meeting aimed at evaluating the security landscape as political activities ramp up ahead of the general elections.

Jimoh emphasized that complaints regarding investigative lapses no longer justify case transfers and should be handled by the respective state commands. He noted that while the situation may require specialized expertise, the zonal command should provide investigative support to ensure swift resolutions and prosecutions.

Jimoh described the security situation in Lagos and Ogun as stable, citing notable achievements in crime prevention and control. He urged the commands to maintain momentum through intensified surveillance and community policing, highlighting the importance of collaboration with local stakeholders.

Additionally, he commended the support from the Lagos State Government, particularly Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for providing logistical support to enhance police operations.
