AFIT Kaduna Graduates 3,000, Expands Postgraduate Programs

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Kaduna held its combined 2nd, 3rd, and 4th convocation ceremonies, graduating 3,000 students. Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Ademuwagun announced the expansion of postgraduate programs, increasing master's degree offerings from two to twelve and postgraduate diplomas from four to twelve.

The graduation included 2,112 students trained in programs accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and 729 by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Among the graduates, 159 completed postgraduate studies, with 513 specializing in aerospace engineering and aircraft engineering technology, which are critical to Nigeria's aviation industry.

The ceremony highlighted exceptional academic performances, with 305 students achieving first-class honors and 146 obtaining distinctions. Notable graduates included Oluwol Winner Oluwatimilehin in aerospace engineering and Amrah Abdulkadir in cybersecurity, with Oluwasegun Babalola Jacob David emerging as the best graduate with a near-perfect CGPA of 4.99.

The institute also inducted its engineering graduates into the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
