Airtel Nigeria Offers Free Tech Training for Women

Airtel Nigeria, in collaboration with the Airtel Africa Foundation, has launched an initiative targeting 200 underserved young women in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State for free technical training. This program, part of the Digileap Tech Drive, aims to enhance digital literacy and address the gender gap in the technology sector.

Segun Ogunsanya, Chairman of Airtel Africa Foundation, emphasized that the project extends beyond basic classroom instruction, focusing on creating a professional pipeline that includes internships and sustainable career opportunities for women. Dinesh Balsingh, Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, stated that empowering women with digital skills is crucial for national economic growth.

The application portal for prospective trainees, aged 18 to 35, is currently open and will remain accessible until May 8, 2026. This initiative reflects Airtel's commitment to long-term societal transformation and the belief that when women lead in technology, entire communities thrive.
