Aiyedatiwa Blames Vested Interests for APC Crisis

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State convened a parallel stakeholders' meeting on Tuesday, blaming "vested interests" for the ongoing crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC). He denied any involvement in the violence that disrupted a previous meeting, which resulted in injuries to party chairman Adetimehin and other members.

Aiyedatiwa accused hoodlums, allegedly sponsored by the governor, of attacking the party's state secretariat in Akure. He led party leaders in a meeting to discuss plans for a formal request to move future meetings to 2 PM to accommodate key officials, including the Speaker and Deputy Governor.

Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of due process and expressed concerns over miscreants disrupting party activities. He also called on the police to ensure security during meetings, highlighting the need for protection against violence stemming from factional disputes within the party.
