Aiyedatiwa Denies Involvement in APC Chairman Attack

Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State, responded to allegations connecting him to an attack on the APC Chairman, who was reportedly beaten and injured by hoodlums, allegedly members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), at the party's secretariat in Akure. The incident occurred during a stakeholder meeting, leading to accusations that Aiyedatiwa sponsored the disruption.

In his statement, Aiyedatiwa condemned the actions of the miscreants, asserting that they had no business at the state secretariat. He led a parallel stakeholder meeting with party leaders across the state, which was initially planned for 10 a.m. but was formally requested to move to 2 p.m. to accommodate top officials, including the Speaker and Deputy Governor.

Aiyedatiwa emphasized adherence to due process and denied any animosity towards the congress, attributing the violence to factional disputes over candidacy.
