Ondo South Bye-Election May See Under 100,000 Voters

Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State, remarked that the upcoming Ondo South bye-election may be decided by fewer than 100,000 voters. He made this statement while casting his vote at Ward 4, Unit 5 in Ilaje Local Government Area.

Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in voter participation despite the anticipated low turnout, citing the recent APC primary elections held three weeks prior. The bye-election is being conducted to fill the vacant senatorial seat following the appointment of former Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria's permanent representative to the United Nations.

Aiyedatiwa noted that while the total number of voters participating in the exercise is not expected to exceed 100,000, he remains hopeful for a good turnout. He urged eligible voters to participate peacefully and assured residents of adequate security throughout the electoral process, describing Ondo State as one of the safest and most peaceful states in the country.
